Kids Eye Exams

Children are often unaware that they have a vision problem. They can't always tell you what they see.

PEDIATRIC CARE UPDATE

As of January 2026, we are unable to accept new pediatric patients.

If your child is an existing patient with us, appointments are currently being booked well in advance and during daytime hours (9:45am-2:30pm).

There is an optional waitlist for current pediatric patients who wish to be contacted in the event of last-minute cancellations for preferred dates and times.

Please contact the office and our team will be happy to review availability and assist you further.

Thank you for your understanding and continuing to trust us with your family's eye care.

A regular eye exam can help detect vision problems in children as early as 6 months old.

At Leslieville Optometry, we often recommend that children have their first eye exams by 3 years old. This period is critical in the development of depth perception and hand-eye coordination.

"But my child doesn't know their alphabet yet!"

Not to worry! Our optometrists have many non-invasive ways of checking a child's vision even if they don't yet know how to speak. And on top of it, we do it in a fun and engaging way!

Online bookings for pediatric patients are currently unavailable. Please contact the office directly with any questions regarding pediatric appointments.
